Halloween on Lincoln Road 2017

8:54 AM
The afternoon was a full one, getting ready for Halloween in South Beach is BIG!!  I heard it described yesterday as the BIGGEST holiday in South Beach, and that may be...because Lincoln Road becomes a full out party!!
Still, though, I have to say that South Beach does every holiday up pretty big,
but this is definitely quite an anomaly....in a fantastic way!!

So, first I went to my favorite hair and make up guys... to get my "look" on!
Then met up with some friends for some wine and refreshments close to Lincoln Road..

This is a gathering that I was a part of when Sandra (with the wig) decided to start it 2 years ago, and we have done it for Halloween ever since!!  That year we were "Mejico Air" Flight attendants...started as Pan Am, but somehow that evolved!!
There were about 30 of us at that party in 2015! Men included!!
And then last year, 2016, we were goddesses!!
As usual, Sandra asked everyone to be at her house at 8pm, but then at 6:45pm, I got a text saying she was ready...next year, we decided, we have to PLAN to start earlier!!!
Once at her condo, I wrapped my new sweatshirt around my shoulders, expecting the cool night ahead, because the latest few nights had been very cool!  However, last night ended up being perfect weather...I would have been fine in just the bathing suit and skirt!
We had to keep hydrated, so fortunately, one of my friends poured a bottle of wine in her life-saving "BACK_UP" container...the rest of us carried cups, and on Lincoln Road, when we wanted to buy some water, they were charging $3-$5 for a little bottle, so I think this was a smart plan!!!!
The streets are jammed packed every year full of people, music, people dancing, many ask to have their picture taken with us, and a couple of my friends (David and my new friend, Lenore, who wore the high heels😆), and walked the streets with us, this being their first year, both said it was more fun than they'd imagined!!
Our group actually got pretty big at one point, because many girls met up with us on Lincoln Road! In past years there have been more men with us, but this year, David, was the only one who balanced out the need for testosterone!

At the end of the night, David told me that he was going to take me to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner with a couple of our other friends, just because he had so much fun with us, and was so grateful he went!!  YIPPEE for me...Joe's is a really nice and expensive restaurant!!
He said this morning that he remembers saying that!!  EEEEK!!!😃
I have known most of these girls for years, after meeting Sandra, in the wig, at a Meditation "Meet up" on the beach, just after I moved to South Beach ...she reminded me it has almost been 3 years ago, last night!! I also met Erin at that Meet up that night! She is the pretty one in the pony-tails.  Gloria, with the gold waste band, has been a very good friend that I met at a "Social" Meet up at the Mondrian Hotel.
Kat, the Asian, "Beach Patrol," is traveling now, and just passing thru, but we met thru common friends and meet ups, as well, when I first moved here!

You find out, Miami just isn't THAT BIG!!  Kris, the girl in the sweatshirt, who wasn't going to take chances on the weather, I met through common friends, as well.

And, finally, my good friend, Dave...we kept running into each other at the" Foxhole," near where we both live ( a hidden bar that can only be found by a red light in an alley). and ALLLL the locals know about it, and go there!!

He will tell you that usually we would see each other there, a couple years ago,
when I was there on a date...with someone ELSE!! Haha!!
Anyhow, after a couple of years of running into each other there,
our friendship now exists, and it is pretty cool, because he is just a great, funny guy!
Anyway, at the end of the night, we stopped by FOXHOLE to take a shot at winning their costume contest with a prize of $1,000, but, unfortunately, the contest wasn't going to happen for another couple of hours, til 2am!! (on a "school" night!?)

They admitted, at the door, they wanted everyone to drink for a few hours first!!  Ugh!!
Well, none of us were up for that after our long night, but Dave was a sport and bought all of us a tequila shot, and then we all went our separate ways!!

Another wonderful Halloween that left me smiling from ear to ear with thankfulness today!!
