  • Good Morning, friends,
  • I have been up a lot of the night after a wonderful evening last night suddenly turned upsetting.
  • I didn't have any plans all day, and had just been working a lot on my Live Ultimate business from my balcony, and connecting with friends to let them know about the opportunity to build their immunity & feel great with 50% off my favorite 2 mushroom products: the Elixir and the 'Shrooms.

  • Then, I was pleasantly surprised by an invitation by text to visit a friend.
  • (one of my South Beach friends crowd)
  • "Host" lives a little further north, & invited me to a barbecue.
  •  Host & I had only seen each other once during this "pandemic," recently other than a zoom video call when I was in Indiana.
  • Next, I connected with another friend, Sam, to see if I could ride with him,
  • as Host had said he'd be joining us.
  • "Sam" introduced me to another friend, by text, "Mike," who said that he would be happy to drive us, especially because he had stopped drinking 3 months ago, and for sure, we were going to enjoy some wine.  Mike responded after our introduction that he "hoped that (I) would remember him this time."
  • After he said that, I knew exactly who Mike was.
  • I remembered a man that our "Host" (My lady-friend having the barbecue)introduced me to a couple of weeks ago when I ran into them at Southpoint in South Beach, Miami.
  • That day, he reminded me that we had met in an Uber pool a couple of times, over the past couple of years, and also one time at Monty's.  Mike is a good looking German guy.

  • Mike picked me up, and our Host reminded me to bring a Jenga game that she had loaned me a few months back.  She had invited me to another gathering a few months ago, and wanted me to bring it then, but it was when my arm was in terrible pain from the flu shot that I received earlier in the year, and I just couldn't bear the idea of carrying that heavy thing down the stairs and through my building, by myself, nor even going out at that time because my arm was in so much incredible pain.
  • So, that day, I declined Host's invitation & I stayed home.
  • After Mike picked me up, and we had a few laughs about how NOW I would remember him, and NOW we would be friends!!  Then, we went across town, and down Collins Ave to pick up Sam, who was sitting outside his building in an N95 mask.  I wondered if he was going to wear the mask in the car with us, and through the party or when he would feel comfortable enough with us to let his guard down, and take it off.
  • I was in the front seat, and didn't turn around to check, but noticed that his voice was very clear throughout the car ride, as though once in the car, he removed his mask.  I was grateful that he felt comfortable enough to do that.  The party started with a champagne toast, and pleasant conversation, while I relaxed by reclining on Host's couch, and sipping the champagne.
  • I got a couple of pictures, but was careful to not get too close or too clear, because this group (excluding Mike, because he didn't seem to have a problem with it), always likes to keep their privacy.
  • Still, I was so impressed with how beautiful Host's house looked and the wonderful array of food on the table that I posted a couple pictures on facebook.

Then we moved outside closer to the grill, as Sam prepared the food that he had brought, and Host prepared a special German potato salad, especially for Mike.  I am usually not a fan of potato salad, but this particular one was amazing, I must say.
  • Altho, as I grabbed a spoon to taste it, Host reminded me that it was MOSTLY for Mike,
  • because he likes it so much.
  • Then, as we all finished eating, Host noticed that she had received some texts that she was
  • checking & responding.
  • Host also announced that the friends who were planning to come over tomorrow night (tonight), wouldn't be coming now, because she was socializing with ME, and I have been "galavanting around."
  • ME?  GALLAVANTING AROUND???
  • I guess by "galavanting" she meant that a couple of weeks ago, after 3 weeks home alone, following a couple of months when I'd also spent most of my time home alone studying, preparing & finishing, a digital real estate class.
  • Then, preparing, strategically, for the real estate class test & then state test.
  • However, after a fun "selfie" movie that my brother sent to the Busch family chat, I impetuously bought myself a plane ticket to fly to Indiana to spend Easter in the home where I grew up.  It seemed like the perfect solution, because not only had I been home, and VERY ALONE, but I also had been in an INCREDIBLE amount of pain, all the way down my arm.
  • Fortunately, my brother is an amazing chiropractor and has an AMAZINGGG clinic in Fort Wayne, IN (where my Dad used to practice...only now it is bigger and more amazing than ever!!)   http://BuschChiropractic.com
  • I ended up staying there 3.5 weeks.
  • (treatment 5 days a week for 3 weeks for nearly an hour and a half each day)
  • I told my brother that I would need to stay until my arm felt better, as the pain had just gotten to be unbearable.  I told my daughters that I would wear gloves & a mask throughout the airport.
  • However, halfway thru the airport, I realized the airport was virtually empty,
  • few had on protection, and honestly, it was the nicest trip that I've ever been on, with everyone so nice and happy, and everything so sterile.
  • I returned to South Beach 2 weeks ago, and have been to Southpoint outside Monty's maybe 2 or 3 times total, since, for just an hour or 2.  This is where my South Beach group congregates every night, near the water on the bike path, where there are stone tables alongside the path.
  • I knew my friends were there, but when my arm was hurting me, I didn't even want to go anywhere, & at first with the scare of the pandemic, I wanted to be sure that I was safe.  I thought if anyone was going to get sick, they would be the first ones, with all of their socializing, & touching.
  • Now that I am back, it has been nice to reconnect with a few of them, while social distancing...outside a couple of times.  None of them ever got sick that I know of...thank goodness.
  • I have never been to any of the stores since I returned from Indiana.
  • I got myself quite a bit of food when I first was notified that the "lock-down" might happen by a "Source" that I didn't reveal.
  •  If anyone remembers,
  • I got quite a bit of flack after I found out, before anyone knew, from people on facebook, who responded to my "friendly warning" that a lockdown MIGHT happen, and "you MAY want to go to the grocery store, (as I am going to)and stock your shelves...just in case.
  • I deleted a few "friends," who accused ME of being "Part of the problem," AND that I was just invoking fear.  However, I ran out, and filled my empty refrigerator.
  • I haven't even needed to go back to the grocery or pharmacy yet.
  • I only do social media for fun, and
  • I enjoy connecting with people, right up and until on my personal page,
  • I have to debate or explain myself, and my decisions.
  •  www.facebook.com/BeingTracy/ is page that I started, along with this blog-page, as more of a fun page, and I do my darndest to not make my posts political nor debate-ful so that people with all different points of view can share and maybe smile there.
  • When I told my brother how I've been received here in South Beach since I returned,
  • & also on social media,
  • Rick told me that I reminded him of Typhoid Mary.
  • If, like me, you don't remember who she is.

  • Mary Mallon - Wikipedia

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typhoid_Mary
"Mary Mallon (September 23, 1869 – November 11, 1938), also known as Typhoid Mary, was an Irish-born cook believed to have infected 51 people, three of whom died, with typhoid fever, and the first person in the United States identified as an asymptomatic carrier of the disease.
  • Because she persisted in working as a cook, by which she exposed others to the disease, she was twice forcibly quarantined by authorities, and died after a total of nearly three decades in isolation."
  • So, like the definition at the top of the page describes,
  • I have come to terms with the fact that maybe my realization, and ideas about how to keep myself safe, may not be the same as yours.
  • I also feel that we ALL need to do what we feel we need to do to be safe.
  • It's completely PERSONAL.
  • If it makes you feel good to wear a mask, please do so.
  • If it makes you feel good to stay home, PLEASE do so.
  • However, ME?
  • I am so sorry for those who have been negatively affected by the Coronavirus.
  • However, clearly, whatever this thing is, it's not going away anytime soon.
  • I am going to go back to living my life again...
  • without FEAR.
