An Extra Ticket Goes to the Eagles in Concert with Jimmy Buffett

5:12 AM
Well! This has been a blog worthy week!!
Lotta things going on!
And right when I am about ready to put like about 10 pictures on facebook,
on my Being Tracy facebook page,
I remember when my brother, Joe has told me in the past (before I had a blog)....
"TRACY, THIS IS WHY YOU NEED A BLOG!!"

A couple of weeks ago, my good friend, David Tait invited me to go to see the Eagles Concert.  At that time, I didn't realize that the show was going to be with Jimmy Buffett too,
which was an added surprise!!

I later found out that he paid $650 for 4 tickets!!😲
David also invited a married couple that we are friends with, who cancelled last minute,
which left us with 2 extra tickets!!

So, David, always resourceful, quickly rallied and found a date!
UGH! This gave me an unexpected challenge.
I didn't want to have to find a date now!!!

I have a large group of people that I know.
(3000 friends on facebook, and another social page that has been inspired by this blog: https:www.facebook.com/BeingTracy/)
But only a small group who I actually do things with, and none of these people were available nor wanted to leave our "South of Fifth" neighborhood in South Beach to go to a concert at the
Hard Rock Stadium...albeit the EAGLES and Jimmy Buffett!!!

However, life can get a little repetitive, which is why I welcomed this opportunity
to get out to do something different.

Just wasn't sure who I was going to take!!!
Even put it on facebook for 3000 of my closest friends to see yesterday morning.
Interestingly, got only a couple replies until I was actually at the Stadium!
One of the early replies offered up a friend of his, who lived closer, and
may be able to accompany me.
Although this was very kind, I felt my chances might be better just going to the show by myself, and seeing just who the Universe put in my path.

I always believe that the people who you are with make the experience what it is
...more than the experience itself,
which is why I had to be very careful who I chose to take.

David and I had breakfast together at Joe's Stone Crab Cafe
(met some people there who offered up friends and family to accompany me to the concert...they started face-timing me and their friends/relatives😂 ),
and then David took me over to Smith and Wollinski,
where I love to sit outside, with friends who live nearby, and enjoy the afternoon.

None of them wanted to take advantage of my extra ticket, and join me, nor leave South Beach,
but I relished the opportunity for some diversity,
and was ever so thankful to David for the invitation.
However, all day no one really responded to my facebook invitation, and to be honest, I wasn't even sure that I was going to go.
I had told David that if I couldn't get a date or a friend to accompany me,
I wasn't going to get a car, and come over by myself.
He understood.

Knowing how much David had already paid for the tickets made me a little ashamed
of myself to even be considering the price of the ride, which I found was:
($30 LYFT ride there and $30 back)
A hefty price when I am accustomed to $3-5 LYFT rides to get me around South Beach!😲

David put the tickets up for sale, so it was a race against time...either they sell or I find a date.😂
I usually try to dress for anything, when I leave my house in the morning,
because I usually don't return until the end of the day.
This day was like every other in that the unexpected always comes up!
I called a LYFT around 5:30pm for the concert because David and his date were already on their way coming from the other direction.  Nice married guy with 2 kids from Kendall.  For a minute, I considered giving him the ticket, as he seemed excited about the concert...
except he was a married guy with 2 kids...
I didn't think that would be appropriate...
plus, just kind of hoping that the Universe would put some interesting
people in my path...which it DID!!
I was the first to get there.  But there was music playing, and the sun was going down, and we could see it thru the open dome at the top of the stadium!  NEAT!!
David sat with the empty seat between us with his date, Ana on the other side.

I had a little chance between the bands to talk to her, and found that
she was a very sweet girl on an extended vacation here, but also a mother like me!
Just then, I looked next to me, and realized that I had the honor to be sitting next to some other EAGLES...awesome!!  2 couples from CA on vacation here, and
chose to catch the concert, and make the most of it!.
Finally, the show started!!  Jimmy Buffett started it off with "Its 5:00 Somewhere,"
and "Margaritaville!"
Then began an amazing light show, and the EAGLES!!
"WITCHY WOMAN," "DESPERADO," "TEQUILA SUNRISE," "PEACEFUL EASY FEELING"
All great songs, and bringing back memories.
Glen Frey's son even spoke, as he now takes the place in the band for his father, since his death, and was very thankful for the outpouring of love from the audience...
asked to turn up the lights, so he could see everyone.
GREAT MUSIC, GREAT PEOPLE and an INCREDIBLE TIME was had by ALL!!
I didn't stay for the entire show, as when the EAGLES started playing, they said they would be playing for 2.5 hours...WOW!  That is a lot of music, and I had already had a long day!!
Plus, I never like to be out past mid-night when I am out alone.

I listened to the first 1/2 of the EAGLES show, and then with my cell battery on red, I excused myself, and knew I better get myself a ride home before I lose battery.

It was another race against time...this day held nothing but excitement!!
I went down to catch a car, and found that there were very few LYFT cars...only UBER,
which I no longer take nor have the app on my phone.

OOOHHHH MANNN!! I was about to run out of battery and there were also no yellow cabs!!!
Never thought I'd see the day when I was actually LOOKING for a yellow cab!!!

Anyway, I walked out to the main road and finally caught myself a nice
LYFT ride home with 1% battery to spare...believe I made it home by midnight...
happy I left the show when I did, but also had an incredible time,
and met some even more incredible people!!

    1. OH WOW, SAL! GOOD TO KNOW!!! Actually, you were the one who was recommended to me by one of our common friends to escort me to the concert!! I guess our friend knew you knew a lot about the groups! There was another lady there with what appeared to be a shark hat...we understood that to be a symbol for the song "Fins," by Jimmy Buffett.

  4. Hey...Tracy...glad you could join us. And no worries about how much the tickets cost - life is about experiences and not $$$ and that experience was priceless!

  5. Standard guitar tuning is EADGBE, but many guitar players use alternate tunings to achieve different sounds. OttawaGuitarShow
