South Beach "Sobe" SeaFood Festival 2017

7:31 AM
Amazing Event!!
Quite possibly the best annual event South Beach offers...

The girls and I met there (Ocean Drive and 14th Street) at just after noon when it started!
We first walked through the vendors, in the general admission area, which I guess the entire festival covers 4 blocks, getting a free back pack to put all of our accumulated free stuff in!!
There was a live band and a dj playing all kinds of fun miami music. My favorite "Despacito," was playing as we passed in front of the dj.  I had to stop and break out in dance immediately when I heard it...not an uncommon thing, and I believed that I looked completely normal!!

Tickets for this one day event range in price from $30 if general admission is purchased on Groupon months early or over $250 for VIP, which also gets you invited to the pre-party Friday night and the late party Saturday night.
We made our way thru the "General Admission" area with the bands and free liquor, but the seafood went for between $6-$8 per unit.  I only bought 3 Spicy Tuna Taco's from Trulucks, ($2 each) which were amazing, and then we entered the VIP where it is a completely different world with air-conditioned bathrooms, free food and free liquor and under a tent in case it rained, which we only experienced a couple of light sun-showers.
Once inside I don't believe in leaving the VIP area!!
The only challenge is moderating your drinking so you can hang out and laugh and dance with friends for the duration of the event, which I am happy to say that after 2 years of attending this event, this is the first year that I really feel that I mastered that and WAS, in fact, able to fully enjoy the entire event!!

It is so nice in the VIP with fun dance music playing and the Miami game on a huge tv on the wall, and couches to sit on too!!

The day culminated as we left the main VIP tent to go to the smaller covered area as we were walking out where everyone had these individual speakers on their ears...apparently, we were all listening to the same song, but individually...hilarious.

I left by myself, as it got dark, but many of my friends enjoyed, it to it's end, but by 8pm, I had enough of the drinking Corona lite w/ lime and Herradura tequila w/ a lime(my drink of choice yesterday)...good enough endless liquor, and a super fun event!!
