"2 for 2"

6:04 PM

 Hey, guys.

Happy Sunday.

A little disappointing for me, and for my date too, I guess.

I had a date scheduled for tonight for a few days now.

A man who lives in Ft Myers, but we met on a dating site, and he had planned to be in my area to fix his Mercedes this tomorrow, so was hoping to see me today or tomorrow.

Seemed like a nice funny guy.

What happened:  He called me to confirm our date this morning.

Then at 4:45 when he was supposed to pick me up, he text me and said that I had given him the wrong address, as he was in someone elses hood with blacks surrounding his car, as tho to rob it.

I assured him that I had given him the correct address, but then we found that he was in a different zip code.

Finally he got here and we met at Ruth's Chris.

He chose to sit at a table and said he was so glad that he had come because he was really enjoying my company, and that I looked great.

First thing he told me was that he only could have 500 miles on his car, and now he was over that because he had gotten lost coming to visit me.

Then, he needed to go back to his car for his mask.

Next, the restaurant brought him the wrong drink.

Then the restaurant brought his steak too rare.

But they brought him 1/2 glass of Tito's vodka and another free side of amazing scallop potatoes to make up for it.

When we were taking he asked what I'd been doing today, so I told him that I was writing my blog.

He asked what it was about.

At first I started to tell him, but then thought better of it.

However, a few minutes later, he said something that triggered me to tell him of my blog, and my date last night. (keeping in mind I've never met this man in person before.)

Suddenly everything bad got worse, because I had a date last night...the night before I met him.

I guess he had been saving himself for me, since we connected on a dating site?

Anyway, the restaurant followed this with not bringing our dessert in 20-25 minutes, so my date threw a fit and talked to the manager.  This resulted in a free meal for both of us.  He threw a $20 bill down on the table as we were leaving ...hesitantly.

Finally drove me back to my building, and as we pulled up looked down at his phone and said he had to drive 70 miles back to his location where he was staying in Delray.

I looked at him, wished him well, and got out of the car.
