Wrapping Things Up Before My Vacation

3:48 AM
So, this week I have just been enjoying staying home, taking my real estate class online (I kinda just wanna get thru it quickly), decorating my new place (with the help of my kids), not drinking (until last night...One of my bffs, Nesti encouraged me out)), and finishing work with THE AMERICAN CHIROPRACTOR MAGAZINE in order to take a week off (starting tomorrow).

And of course, I have been sleeping great all week until last night after a couple of cocktails!!!  I just woke in the middle of the night, and went out on my balcony to blog, but realizing I am sitting in the middle of a rainstorm with thunder and lightening that is radiating thru my body, I asked Siri if sitting on my balcony with my computer in the middle of a rainstorm is a good idea, and she said no, by sending me some articles of the 1/1000 chance of being struck.  So now I am inside blogging, and watching the light show outside!

I have been more focused this week on bettering myself through exercise, education and diet.  The guy I wrote the last blog about, Yachtsman, while being very interesting, lost me when for the 4 days following 2 great dates in a row, he would text me 3-5 times a day (not call ...TEXT), and always want to know what I was doing, and where I was...wouldn't want to see me nor share much about him.  I saw this as a red flag.

Then a friend of mine did a back-ground check on him, and found he had at least one grand theft charge in his history, some other bad press, and as well as my friend could find no record of divorce from his lawyer wife.  Needless to say, I came to terms with the realization that this guy was not my soul-mate, with this find, and also realized that dating may not be leading me in the best direction right now.  This prompted me to change my focus.

I'm going home.  It's not a direct flight, and I probably haven't returned to Indiana in something like 20 years, but I'm feeling like it's time.  I'm using all my frequent flyer miles (100,000), and I'm going back first class the whole way!  I'll just be there a few days, but mainly I am going back to "The Busch Homestead," my Dad used to call it!  Back to my roots...1 of my brothers, and his family live in the amazing home where I grew up!  Look for pictures in my next blog!

I can't wait!  I even have plans to go to "the lake" one day with the only other guy I ever dated for more than a year besides my ex-husband. (who I only dated for 9 months before we were married for 17 years!)  I broke up with this guy when I moved to FL, and then met the father of my children.

The other guy, we'll call him the Purdue Catcher, because he was just out of Purdue college when I met him, where he attended with a baseball scholarship, but his knee injuries set him on a different path after college. Purdue Catcher never married, but did have a significant relationship with a girl who already was the mother of 4 children, he told me.  We really didn't even keep in touch until a few years ago after my divorce, and on facebook, but when we were dating, I was ready to get married and have kids, and he was not, and was just getting into real estate.  I didn't want to stay in Indiana all of my life, and he wanted to stay there near his parents.  After a few arguments, I just realized that it was time for me to go, and so I moved to Naples, FL.  I believe one of my earlier blogs touches on the whole story of how I met the father of my children, and decided that marrying him was the best option for me, at the time.

Anyway, as I recall, we've only seen each other for a drink, (I don't remember any chemistry then, as we were both on such different paths) one time to catch up years ago, when I was married and in town.  However, other than that, we have a lot to catch up on.  It is funny how life can take you in such different directions.  Long ago, Purdue Catcher looked like Richard Geere in the movie "Pretty Woman," and I always could see he would have been a great father...maybe he still will have the chance!  (with another woman)  It will be interesting to see him now 29 years later!

Stay tuned, and I'll letcha know!  Sun is coming up!!  It's time to start the day!
Last day in South Beach, Miami before my Indiana trip!!
