Back to the LIFE in South Beach

8:19 AM
Good Morning!

I had an amazingly fun and full visit to spend time with my family and homestead
where I grew up in Leo, Indiana.
Saw just a few of the people who were close to me while I lived there, and enjoyed a lot of laughs remembering the way things were.
Still, I was so blessed to return to where I now am in life to finish out my vacation.  My youngest daughter and her boyfriend are coming to visit me this weekend, and my daughter who lives in Kendall, Miami is coming to visit me today, while she is on a break from nursing school.

I had such a nice 1st night home last night out with my gay friends,
after the man I met at the pool yesterday afternoon
(my 1st visit to the pool in my building)
invited me to have wine with him by the pool at 5pm,
but then text me after he went to his condo to change his shoes before he took me to dinner,
following the 3/4 open bottle of white wine he shared with me,
and confessed that he really liked me, but didn't have money right now to take me out to dinner.

So, I told him that I completely understood, and thanked him for his honesty.
(better than leaving me with the check!!  As can be read about in an earlier blog)
I met my friends Nesti and Bobby out for a drink and dinner nearby, & even met a new man on my walk home.

I guess he saw me when my friends and I stopped by Bodega, for a bite to eat, after I met them at the Gaythering, and then I walked Nesti to the front of his building, and kept walking to mine, I popped into Foxhole (a hidden local bar in an alley) on my way home,
(I figured I could maybe stay out a little later than Happy Hour, as I'm on vacation...RIGHT!?

I was just turning around to leave when I found no friends there,
& this man walked in the door, and asked me to stay.
We'll call him the Famous Author, because that is what he told me he was!

Famous Author was handsome, and just moved here within the month, and is waiting for his divorce to become final and settlement of the $3.5 million house he has with her.
He showed me the multitude of books he has written on Amazon & for Walmart.
I have to admit it was quite impressive.
He writes on spirituality,
(his books looked interesting!)
and told me he was sure that I was his "soulmate."
Asked me when he could take me out to a nice dinner, and I told him he could tonight.

The only thing that i wasn't sure of was that he kept slapping my fanny.
He told me he was spanking me.
The first time he "spanked me,"
I asked him what I had done wrong that he felt that I was in need of a "spanking?"
The 2nd time, I asked him to "please be a little more respectful?"

Anyway, it was still Happy Hour at the Foxhole,
but I knew I was only going to be able to have maybe 1 more, so after the first one,
I told him that he could have my other wine, and that I was going to finish my walk home.
He protested and didn't want me to walk alone,
so he poured my 2nd drink partly in his,
but then when I kept telling him that I really just wanted to get home,
he stood up, and said that he was going to walk me there.

On the now longer walk, since I recently moved,
he pointed out where he lives, and kept inviting me in for a visit,
but I assured him that was not going to happen,
and I just kept thinking about how nice my new isleep king size bed & bedding
was going to feel, with just ME in it!!!
He walked me to the entrance of my building, and then turned around to walk back to his home,
but only after he assured me that I would hear from him today,
and that he'd be taking me out to a very special dinner TONIGHT!!

So, we'll see!!
It has just become clear to me that
in my life, I have only really dated 3 men at any length beyond 1 or 2 months.
I dated a man in high school for 9 mos.  I dated Purdue Catcher for 1.5 years,
(and he still wears Purdue memorabilia btw...I noticed on our lake trip last weekend!
He even gave me a Purdue hat to wear to shield me from the sun!
PC has been very successful,
(I heard from family),
However, prefers old cars and doesn't need or use air conditioning in his cars.
I saw this as a basic needs shift & difference.
AND finally, there was the father of my four children, whom I dated for 9 mos. before our 17 year marriage, which actually took 2 more years before the actual divorce, but it was over after 17 years.

I don't know.  I sure would like to have a special someone in my life right now, but I really love, and have a good time with myself, so I guess it will just take finding a special someone who I love & have as much fun with, as I do myself!! 💖

I feel that I am going thru a paradigm shift right now, too,
as that is no longer my central focus.
Instead, right now, after this nice vacation from work, I'll continue getting smarter, as I'm taking a real estate course online, (I'm enjoying it, & doing surprisingly well!) improving my diet with supplements that are improving my health, and getting into top shape!!
