It was Tina's birthday yesterday, which meant a girls' lunch at a very exclusive South Beach Restaurant called Milo's. In an area of South Beach we all lovingly refer to as: "South of 5th."
Because it is in a more affluent area of town which is South of 5th Street!! So, we all decided to take advantage, while sharing Pino Grigio, Tina, the birthday girl's choice!
This time of the year, there is a menu in South Beach called the "Miami Spice" Menu, which gives you like a 3 course lunch and a 4 course dinner for very inexpensive prices...like I think lunch might be $29 and dinner is $39, and it is offered at some very exclusive restaurants...like Milo's!!
Then, as we do in South Beach, after lunch we WALKED to one of our favorite haunts: Smith and Wollinski...This is the way we usually get around. I chose South Beach to live in because I was told that i didn't need a car to live in, so true to that, I sold my car in Panama, moved here and bought a bicycle and roller blades! I LOVE living here without the need for a car...at night, if I need to, I can uber or lyft just about anywhere for under $3.
Funny, because between Smith and Monty's is where we all met...it is kind of like we just all kept seeing each other there, and our friendship grew...well, "Oscar" is the one who brought us together.
Because when he met each of us at respective happy hours between these places, he liked us, and introduced about 20+something of us...that is how I got this incredible friend group in South Beach!
But he doesn't like to be photographed...so we try to keep him out of pictures, but he knows and will repeatedly remind us that it is HE who brought us together!!
So back to my blog.
As it always does, our local South Beach friend group grew this afternoon. Henry, the manager of Smith saw us walk in and gifted Tina with another more amazing cake, when he recognized us and we told him we were celebrating Tina's day. They always take great care of us here. And, as always, we shared laughs and stories....and I guess THIS is why I woke in the middle of the night...so grateful, and now I can return to sleep!!! xxoo
