A message from God

11:08 PM

Yesterday I went to church.

I just found a local Catholic Church where I feel good.

I was baptised Catholic, but I will get registered this week and start taking classes to get confirmed.

Father Joseph‘s message for me was a very emotional one, which lately I find every Sunday message to be emotional.

“I can’t expect the world to change if I don’t change...”

(which is what exactly what this year is about for me… getting in the best physical shape of my life and service to others...I prayed for God to guide me to serve.)

Father Joseph said: “Jesus knows your heart is bruised... “

The one who is “victorious in the world is the one who knows Jesus Christ...Drench in the Holy Spirit...”

After church, I had plans to meet a friend I hadn't seen in a few months for lunch at 12:30pm, but I had a little bit of time before then and I knew some girlfriends of mine were nearby brunching, so I stopped off to see them on my way home.   As I was standing there telling them about the message and the church service, my phone rang.  It was a lady talking to me in Spanish. I speak and can understand Spanish, but this woman seemed to have an important message.  I couldn’t understand everything that she was saying nor hear her in the loud restaurant where I was standing. So, I asked my girlfriend, Marisel, who is fluent in Spanish to come outside with me and listen to this woman on my phone, and tell me what she was saying.

Marisel, started sharing with me this woman’s message, and it was that I needed to read Peter 5-7 in the Bible and she shared with me that God knows that I’m going through a difficult time right now, but he is there for me, and I am going to come through it.

Marisel and I both could not believe this was happening.

Marisel was looking at me with her mouth wide open and I was asking her, did this woman see me in church crying? Was she at my church? Where does she live?

The woman on the phone was Magdalia, and she was calling me from Hialeah (15 minutes or so away), and she had randomly chosen my number...didn't have any idea who or where I was.

She said sometimes she just gets a feeling then randomly calls numbers.

After returning back inside to my other girlfriend, Randi, and telling her about what had just transpired with Magdalia, a discussion about the likelihood of that phone call happening at the time that it did (when I was reading my notes from church, and telling my friends about their meaning to me), I returned home, so my friend, Rick, could pick me up for lunch. We ended up in Coconut Grove, but first, we drove through another area in Miami.

The first place we stopped, and the first woman I saw after that conversation with my girlfriends, came up to me with I am mask on that said “God is good.”

I shared with this woman what happened to me just an hour earlier when Magdalia had called me and her response was:

“That’s the way it happens. God is talking to you.”
